Water: Per New Mexico State Engineers Office in Las Cruces, NM, there is 58.10 acre feet (diversion amount) under File LRG-03963 associated with this dairy. Typically, in New Mexico 1 water right acre is equal to 3 acre feet of water. Therefore, after dividing the diversion amount by 3 there are approximately 19.36 acres of adjudicated water rights. Water for the property is provided by three shallow wells.

 

     

 

Barn: The milk house is an older structure designed with a concrete foundation, concrete floor, concrete block and metal roof. The barn also contains an office/supply room, bathroom, milk room and equipment room with a 10' X 10' roll up door. Milk parlor is designed with pit type construction and contains the wash and drip area. The parlor has two return alleys located on either side of the pit and holding area. Wastewater is removed by gravity and flows to the north end of the barn and is removed from the pumping pit. It is equipped as a double 6 herringbone all exit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Corrals: The corrals are commercial grade pipe corrals. All posts are in concrete. Pipe posts are set on 10 foot centers with four strands of steel cable running through the posts. Pens are improved with 5 in 10', 4 in 10' self locking stanchions, Fiberglass and concrete drinkers, 12 foot wide cow stands, 20 foot feed lanes and 12 foot cow alleys.

 

 

Crops: There is no cropland associated with this property.

 

     

 

Shades: There are 10 open sided shades of various sizes.

Hay Storage: There are two 40' X 100' open sided hay barns with hard packed caliche floors.

Commodity Barn: Commodity Barn has 7 bays with concrete floor and a 30' X 110' concrete approach apron.

 

 

Scales: The facility is equipped with 12' X 70' scales with a 60 ton capacity.

The wiring to the scales has been disconnected.

 

 

Waste Management: There is currently a lagoon system on the dairy. Work will be required for New Mexico Environmental Department and EPA. Pospective buyers are encouraged to contact the NMED and EPA as to the compliance of the Waste Management Plan of the facility.
